Rumors (11.26.04)
J-Lynn's Sports Bar & Grill
Shelby, N.C.

Rumors put on a heck of a performance. The night started out a little slow, and then the crowd showed up. They have told me on more than one occassion, that they fed off of the crowd. They had the house rockin'. They performed some of the new material,  that they had been working on, since their last show. The song list included a lot of great rock and country tunes, as well as their own. If you missed the show last night, then they will be there again tonight. It is well worth the $5 cover charge. For more dates, check out the Calendar Page. Some pics will be on the Photo Album Page, so check them out, you might see yourself.

BAND REVIEW  BY:
Steve Leatherwood

BAND:
Southern Junction (Concord/Charlotte)

Where:
LiveAtLeatherwoods Dec. 4,2004 in UpTown Shelby

Southern Junction was (as they are always) a crowd pleaser and a delight to the audience.  If you love bluegrass, you will love this band.  SJ constantly varies their musical playlist to include new and classic as well as original bluegrass music.  This performance was no exception and along with the normal bluegrass favorites, they managed to include no less than a dozen Christmas tunes, bluegrass style of course!.  As a band, Southern Junction has received many top honors at bluegrass festivals and events.  Both Todd Shue (mandolin & tenor vocals) and Terry Shue (bass fiddle &bass vocals) have been indivdiually recognized for their instrumental and vocal performances.  Father, Bob Shue keeps a
solid background going on his banjo, Eddie Carr saws a mean fiddle with his own unique "Orange Blossom Special" and Mack Watson (guitar & lead vocals) flirts with the audience with his jokes, comic routines, solid lead vocals and great picking on the flatop guitar.  As a group, you probably would be hard pressed to find a more well-rounded and versatile bluegrass band with this kind of personality and charm.  Southern Junction is one of the few bands booked at Leatherwood's two times each year because of their popularity with our regular audience.  See them in 2005 on July 23 or December 3.  In fact, you need to see both shows since each will be as unique as they will be entertaining.

The Local Music Junkie would like to thank Steve for this show Review. Steve is the owner of the finest Bluegrass venue in town. Check out the Calendar Page for Upcoming Shows at LiveAtLeatherwoods.

Review By: Gforce

Band: Omega Tribe

Where: Ireson's Pub, Bristol Tn.

details: Omega Tribe is a culmination of all that is and was great about Heavy Metal. An old school approach to a new era of metal, Omega Tribes live shows simply leave people shellshocked. Their stage presence is simply stated. The two guitarist and Bassist barely raising a head during the live set. A true hunker down and anhialate the audience stance. Lead singer Pat is a towering individual standing in at 6'6'" or so. On first glance seems to be just a simple ball cap wearin', Nascar lovin, monster of all that is southern, but then the music starts and he stands tall as a true voice of metal dominance. The vocals are much more a part of the Music with this delivary than a lot of metal you hear nowadaze. The Drums, (Scott), drive the music from begining to end along with the bass allowing the 2 headed guitar attack to paint pictures of melodic terror. Imagine operatic Horror movie soundtracks that will leave you in suspense and disbelief and you have an idea of what Omega !
Tribe brings to the table. Simply one of the best Metal Bands in the scene and obviously a cut above some of the other acts.
