Tater is based in Shelby, in the foothills of Western North Carolina.
Tater was formed in 1998.
Tater lead guitarist, Roger Padgett, recorded and toured with
the band "Acoustic Syndicate" www.acousticsyndicate.com for their second release "Tributaries".

Tater vocalist and guitarist, Luke Edwards, once served as the
lead singer for the early 90's alternative metal band "Animal Bag" www.animalbag.com (Mercury Records).
"Fat Sack" is the title of Tater's newest Little King Records
release (2002).

Tater resides somewhere in the grey area between musical genres
and catigorizations, which often spawns some of today's most interesting and adventurous music.Hailing from the foothills
of Western North Carolina, Tater has cultivated a sound and style which are uniquely unconventional. Tater's talent lies not
only in the skill with which they play their songs, but with their ability to cross musical boundaries while still retaining
a signature sound. Not bluegrass, but at home at a bluegrass festival. Not a jamband, but able to jam with the best. A little
country, a little rock, and all good! Tater is able to craft songs combining the diverse musical journeys of it's individual
members into original entities that often defy catigorization!
A live Tater show is a true adventure for both the eyes and
ears. Impeccable musicianship delivered with an intensity and confidence that can only be gained through the individual band
member's combined years of touring and live performance experience. Now on the road in support of their sophomore release
"Fat Sack", on the Little King Records label, Tater is prepared to deliver Hi-Test Hillbilly Grass N' Roll to the masses.
